TIME

It is so easy when something matters so much to you to let it take over your time.

I’m regaining balance now and reminding myself of the order of my priorities

FOREST

Easy to type but as in life the boundaries overlap and blur.  Was it not for my FAMILY – l gave so much time to protect our beautiful  FOREST- didn’t that become my WORK.  Work has never been defined as only that which l am paid for.

The picture for this blog is a design l created quickly – with my childs crayons –  to carry something more personal when l marched in protest  against the drilling application threatening our Afan Valley.

The design is a merging of two sources:

One,the original Green Woodpecker logo for Afan Argoed which ironically has in it the actual location of the proposed drilling site and

Two,the sigil created by “The warriors Call” Protecting the WATERS of our one world.

Three, is what l the  Artist tried to give – the dramatic blood is the blood of the forest, air and water all those beings who need us humans to stand up for them and be heard on their behalf too.  I can still feel the horror l felt, when l was told that the noise of the drilling would shatter a bats brains?  I have been inside roosts close up to these exquisite creatures I have seen their breath like dewdrops of diamonds on hibernating whiskered faces tiny tiny feet gripping impossible cracks in stone… It makes me sick that a company thinks it can strut in and drill and destroy our hillsides and the lives of all who live here.

The fight to keep them out continues,  for my community is now facing a second almost identical application from the same company UK Methane after our NPT council in South Wales refused their first in 2014.  The good news of course is that Wales as a whole look set to ban this abhorrent industry.  It can’t come too soon!
